a photograph (curtesy of *anneliese ) of an oil pastel on cardboard.
i did this picture early last year of a lil photograph i found in some magazine (its not completely the same). it was so weird... near the end of the year, that same photograph i saw, was part of the "new orleans chicken burger" for KFC...i was like...omg that's my jazz man!... the only difference to the pic in the magazine was the background. if any of u can remember that advertisment. so yes...its on cardboard...which is y it looks so crap! haha

Whoa... this is REALLY a great pic! I'm not ashamed to say it's the kinda thing I'd put on my wall. I LURVE the colors! Your use of complementary colors did its work and this pic really pops. You captured the lighting of night and I definitely love your "jazz man!" ;) Bravo! +FAV!

thanx :D it was pretty weird. mostly due to the fact that i forgot i got this original pic from a mag, haha! so i was like "hey, thats mine!"

This is great to, I know he doesn't play sax but it makes me think of Tom Waits. Have you seen "Tom Waits for no one"? [link] the rendering in this is alot like your idea.
